Tom brings deep experience in technology and business leadership from a 30-year career in the
heavy-duty powertrain industry. He has worked for industry-leading companies including
Detroit Diesel, Navistar and, most recently, Power Solutions International. Tom also worked in
the US offices of Ricardo, PLC, a global strategic, environmental, and engineering consultancy.
Over the course of his career, Tom has worked on numerous engine and vehicle launches with
responsibilities in design, development, calibration, performance & emissions, certification,
program management, and production support. He also has extensive experience in
commercial strategy, product strategy, business strategy, and business leadership. In addition,
Tom has worked hand-in-hand with inside and outside counsel on various product-related legal
matters during his career.
With deep technical and management experience in the powertrain and commercial vehicles
industry, Tom adds tremendous capability to the 44 Energy team. Tom will be part of 44
Energy’s management team involved with strategy planning, supporting the Company’s existing
business, and focusing on relationships with advanced powertrain companies as they navigate
the fast-changing and challenging regulatory landscape. Tom will also provide guidance to Red
Fox Resources, 44 Energy’s partner company, to introduce sustainability, recycling, and core
management to companies as they manage the life cycle of their strategic mineral and metal
intensive products such as emission control catalysts, batteries, and fuel cells.
Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and
a Master’s degree in Product Design and Development Management from Northwestern
University – McCormick School of Engineering.
