Welcome Manny Vittal

We are pleased to announce Manny Vittal has joined the 44 Energy team in the role of Senior Engineer III. Manny will support our consulting practice in the areas of powertrain technology, emissions, and regulatory matters.

Manny brings broad engineering experience and an entrepreneurial mindset, having worked for startup technology companies such as Achates Power and, most recently, ClearFlame Engine Technologies. He also worked in the US offices of FEV North America, Inc., a global engineering service provider in vehicle and powertrain development.

Over the course of his 25-year career, Manny has worked on numerous engine platforms, including medium- and heavy-duty engines for on-road and power generation applications, large-bore engines for locomotive and stationary use, engines for passenger vehicles, and opposed piston 2-stroke engines. He has held wide-ranging responsibilities in design, development, calibration, performance, emissions, project management, and production support. His in-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines and testing techniques extends to researching and developing engines to run on low-carbon fuels such as ethanol and methanol. In addition, Manny has worked closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers to resolve various product-related issues during his career.

Manny holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He is the author or co-author of four journal papers, and the inventor or co-inventor of three patents.

Manny will office in Chicago, Illinois.
